Melanie & Matt are from our hometown in Missouri and graduated high school the same year as Ryan. Ryan & Matt were good friends in junior high and Melanie & Mindy used to spin flags together in Color Guard. It’s hard to say Melanie without mentioning Matt because they’ve been together so long! They’re such a perfect match for each other and we were so excited & honored to film & photograph their wedding reception at Oak Meadows Country Club in Rolla, Missouri.
They actually had their wedding ceremony + honeymoon in Antigua and then came home to celebrate at a reception with friends and family. Seriously, such a good idea – engaged couples take note as we’ll go with if needed! 
Since they had already been married a week or two at their reception, they were totally relaxed and free to have fun. They got to get all dressed up again in their wedding attire, get family photos, and do all the traditional reception things – food, dancing, cake, fun! Honestly, we had a blast at their reception and it kind of felt like a St. James reunion! They were so sweet and told us to put down our cameras and have fun.
Oh did I mention that the portraits we got of them in the 100+ degree heat were some of my favorites to date! Oh yes, we were in the middle of the summer 2012 heat wave and looking at their photos, you can’t even tell. Melanie & Matt, please let us photograph you again! :) Congrats again and best wishes!
